Who We
Are

Know Hub is a non-profit that coordinates the various actors of the innovation ecosystem to transform research results into products or services, that is, into innovation. It is born from one of the public policy initiatives that seeks to transform Chile into a knowledge-based economy and society, and it has partnerships with eight universities and three research centers/institutes.

Javier Ramírez

Executive Director

After obtaining a law degree (Bachelor of Law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), Javier specialized in the field of Intellectual Property, specifically in Patents of Invention (Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from the Universidad de Alicante, Spain), and later furthered his studies in Management (MBA from the Universidad de Chile).
He collaborated in the establishment of the UC Davis Innovation Center in Chile (UC Davis Chile) as its Chief Business Development Officer and led the creation of the Innovation Directory of the Universidad de Chile and the Technology Transfer Directory of the Universidad Andrés Bello (in both of which he was the first Director), among other positions.

Quiénes
Somos

Somos una corporación sin fines de lucro que articula los diversos actores del ecosistema de innovación, para transformar resultados de investigación en productos o servicios, es decir, en innovación. Nacemos de la política pública que busca -junto con otras iniciativas-, transformar a Chile en una economía y sociedad basada en el conocimiento. Contamos con ocho universidades socias y tres centros o institutos de investigación.

Director Ejecutivo

Con una formación original en derecho (Abogado de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), se especializó en el ámbito de la propiedad intelectual y en particular patentes de invención (Magíster en Propiedad Intelectual de la Universidad de Alicante, España) para posteriormente perfeccionar sus estudios en gestión (MBA de la Universidad de Chile).

Anteriormente colaboró en la instalación en Chile del Centro de Innovación de U. de California Davis (como su Chief Business Development Officer) y lideró la creación de la Dirección de Innovación de la Universidad de Chile y de la Dirección de Transferencia Tecnológica de la Universidad Andrés Bello (en ambas fue su primer Director), entre otros cargos.

Taky Parvex

Senior Innovation Manager

Civil Electrical Engineer from the Universidad de Chile with a Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Taky worked as Chief Technology Officer at Antü Energía and MOVIA, developing technological solutions for the energy and transportation industry with projects in renewable energies, energy storage with lithium batteries, and telemetry systems for electromobility. He has participated in different entrepreneurship programs, such as Seed by Startup Chile, the acceleration services of the 3IE Institute, and the entrepreneurship immersion trip to San Francisco, USA, by Innova360, among others.

Sol Uribe

Innovation Manager

Industrial Civil Engineer with a Graduate Certificate in Education for Sustainable Development from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, and a Graduate Certificate in Lean Agile Business from the Universidad del Desarrollo. Sol has experience in the national research, innovation, and entrepreneurial ecosystem. She worked as an R&D Coordinator at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, 2030 Engineering Program, and as a Coordinator of Open Innovation Programs and science- and technology-based companies together with other national universities. She is knowledgeable in the application and management of private and public funds for R&D&I.

Paulina Sepúlveda

Communications Coordinator

Paulina is a Journalist with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from the Universidad de Chile and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communications Management from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She worked for 14 years at the newspaper La Tercera, in the Tendencias and Qué Pasa sections, and specialized in science journalism. She also has experience as a university academic, as a professor of elective courses in Science Journalism and Journalism of Society and Trends in the Faculty of Communication and Image of the Universidad de Chile. She has experience in planning, academic editing, press management, and dissemination.

Óscar Astudillo

Óscar is an Agricultural Engineer with a Master's degree in Technology Management with an emphasis on Biotechnology and a Graduate Certificate in Technified Irrigation from the Universidad de Talca. He was Head of the Technology Commercialization Office of the Universidad de Talca. Óscar began his career as a horticultural researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA) Raihuen, in the Maule Region, where he became Regional Deputy Director of Research and Development.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Jovanka specialized in Management (MBA from the Universidad de Talca) and, specifically, in Technology Management (Master's degree from the Universidad de Talca).
Her in-depth knowledge of the technology management cycle led her to become a researcher in academia on a project that resulted in a technology and the spin-off Ambiotek. She later worked as an external consultant and conducted market research for university research and technology-based companies (Study Area Manager at Createch). She also worked directly in a healthcare start-up (Intellectual Property Expert for uBiome).

She was the Administrative Research Coordinator of the School of Medicine of the Universidad del Desarrollo.

Fernanda has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics and a Master's degree in Management of Scientific and Technological Projects from the Universidad Andrés Bello. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Fernanda worked as a Project Manager at the startup IGO TECH, developing solutions for the mining industry, and as an Intelligent Systems Engineer in the Chilean Army, where she participated in the development of solutions for the Maintenance Division.

María is an Industrial Civil Engineer with a Major in Design and Innovation from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She worked as an Innovation Consultant at Imagine Co., managing innovation and digital transformation projects. She was part of the Start-Up Chile (SUP) team, where she contributed to the SUP Academy team, which sought to enhance the technical and strategic knowledge of SUP entrepreneurs. She has knowledge and experience in qualitative research, and in advising and guiding teams in various university projects of innovation and entrepreneurship.
