The second edition of this initiative began on Tuesday, November 2. It is led by Know Hub Chile under the Innovation in Higher Education project awarded to the UACh Vice-Rector’s Office for Research, Development and Artistic Creation.

More than 50 researchers from the Universidad Austral are taking part in the second edition of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Leveling program, delivered with Know Hub Chile professionals. The goal of this initiative is to provide fundamental knowledge on innovation management processes, intellectual property, technology transfer and science- and technology-based entrepreneurship.

At the first session of the initiative, Germán Rehren, director of the Department of Development and Innovation at VIDCA UACh, said: “It is very motivating to see 50 researchers taking part in an activity like this. The Innovation in Higher Education (InES) project allows us to drive innovation in different areas, and one of them is training, providing knowledge that allows them to carry out their activities with greater knowledge and competence.

He added that “within the university we have different professional and academic profiles that, in one way or another, carry out innovation activities and are at different stages of maturity.”

Meanwhile, Fernando Venegas, Technology Transfer Manager at Know Hub Chile, said that “the response from Universidad Austral researchers has been very good, and this is reflected in this second call. We usually hold this type of activity once a year with our members. However, this shows that at UACh there was a significant critical mass of researchers interested in developing science-based innovation, which is what motivates us.”

This second edition of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Leveling Program will run for eight weeks (until December 21) and will deliver fundamental content to build the core capabilities needed to take on innovation and entrepreneurship projects and challenges. It includes researchers from different disciplines, such as Architecture, Engineering, Biochemistry, Economics, Agronomy, Forestry and Medicine. The first edition took place between July and August and brought together 40 participants.
