Dear Editor:
Chile ranked second in Latin America for scientific output in the Nature Research Leaders 2024 ranking, released this week, which highlights the quality of the science carried out in the country. Since 2015, we have held prominent positions in Latin American science, reflecting a first-rate research ecosystem. This progress is not only a source of pride but also underscores the importance of investing in technology transfer. In this context, the current Technology Transfer bill is a crucial tool for turning scientific knowledge into innovations that drive Chile’s economic and social development. It is essential to support this initiative in order to maximize the impact of our scientific capabilities on industry and society, and thus foster a virtuous circle of research, innovation and development.
