This is Know Hub Chile’s Level-up program, which aims to provide fundamental knowledge on innovation management processes, intellectual property, technology transfer and science- and technology-based entrepreneurship.

On March 15, a new edition of the Level-up Program began with the Universidad de Los Lagos. Over 7 weeks, it will build capabilities among the university’s researchers and academics to take on innovation and entrepreneurship projects and challenges.

In sessions taught by Know Hub Chile professionals, participants will learn about various topics related to technology transfer, such as customer discovery, intellectual property, patent analysis, technology assessment, technology transfer tools and technology-based entrepreneurship.

Know Hub’s executive director, Javier Ramírez, welcomed participants to the first Level-up of 2022, noting that “researchers, who produce the raw material, need to have some notion of what happens downstream, which is a process as complex as, or even more complex than, what happens in the lab. If you do science with the aim of solving a problem, you have to know what that problem is and who has it, and know them by name.”

Paola Ballerino, director of Innovation and Technology Transfer at the Universidad de Los Lagos, said that “this initiative is super important for us, since we are going to talk about innovation and entrepreneurship. At the university we are driving entrepreneurship internally, and it is the main challenge for the next stage of the OTL project, which we want to reinforce with other projects we have been awarded, in order to engage more strongly in these topics and boost not only science- and technology-based entrepreneurship within the university, but also support local entrepreneurs”

This edition of Level-up includes researchers and academics from different areas of the Universidad de Los Lagos, including Biotechnology, Engineering, Economics, Health, Aquaculture, Natural Resources and Food, among others.
