National Payload is one of the programs of the Ad Astra platform that Know Hub develops for the Chilean Air Force (Fuerza Aérea de Chile). It seeks to foster Chile’s integration into the new space economy by contributing to collaboration between the science, technology, knowledge and innovation (CTCI) ecosystem and the global aerospace industry.
National Payload focuses on developing the national payload for one of the upcoming missions of Chile’s National Satellite System. Know Hub Chile is the institution in charge of creating the mechanisms needed to make this space available and ensure it is effectively used by the CTCI ecosystem. It also develops the methodology so that universities and research centers learn about the program and, in turn, can contribute their expertise to it.
