Privacy policy

How we handle the data we receive through knowhub.cl, including the site's virtual assistant.

This policy explains what data we receive through knowhub.cl, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can ask us to delete it.

Last updated: October 21, 2026.

About us

This site belongs to Know Hub Chile: Hub de Innovación y Transferencia Tecnológica, RUT 65.160.597-0, located at Av. Nueva Tajamar 481, Oficina 905, Torre Norte, Las Condes, Santiago. If you have any questions about this policy, write to us at contacto@knowhub.cl.

What data we collect

We only receive the data you give us. We don’t ask for sensitive data, we don’t profile visitors, and we don’t buy or sell databases.

When you write to us

The contact form collects your name, your email address and the message you write. Nothing else.

When you talk to the assistant

We keep the content of the conversation, linked to an anonymous identifier and not to your identity, and, if you ask us to contact you, your name, email address and message.

Technical data

For a short time, we keep an identifier derived from your IP address to limit the number of queries to the assistant and prevent abuse. Only an anonymized version of that identifier is stored with the conversations, and it can’t be used to identify you. We don’t link it to your identity or use it for any other purpose.

What we use it for

To answer your questions, put you in touch with the right team and follow up on your request. We don’t use them for advertising or share them for commercial purposes.

The virtual assistant

How answers are generated

To answer you, the content of the conversation is sent to OpenAI, a provider that operates from servers outside Chile and acts as a processor on our behalf. You can review its terms at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

The conversation is stored in your own browser for the duration of the session and is deleted when you close the tab. We also keep a copy on our site for up to 12 months to understand which questions come up most often and improve the assistant’s answers. That copy is linked to an anonymous identifier, not to your identity.

What not to write there

We ask you not to enter confidential or sensitive information, or information about third parties, in the chat. If you need to discuss a confidential matter, write to us directly at contacto@knowhub.cl.

Who we share data with

  • OpenAI, to run the virtual assistant, under the terms described above.
  • Our web hosting provider, which maintains the infrastructure that runs the site and email.

Other than that, we don’t share personal data with third parties, unless required by a competent authority.

How long we keep it

Contact requests are kept for as long as necessary to handle your inquiry and to keep a record of our institutional communications. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

Conversations with the assistant are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted automatically.

Cookies and browsing

This site doesn’t use analytics or advertising cookies, or third-party tracking services. We only use the browser’s local storage to remember the assistant’s state during your visit.

Your rights

Under Chilean personal data protection law, you can ask us to access your data, correct it if it is wrong, delete it or object to its use by writing to us at contacto@knowhub.cl.

Currently, under article 16 of Law No. 19,628, we will respond to your request within two business days. Once Law No. 21,719 comes into force, the general response period will be 30 calendar days (which may be extended once for up to another 30 days), with the two-business-day period remaining only for temporary blocking requests.

Changes to this policy

If we change the way we handle data, we will update this document and the date in the header.
