National and international mentors will help the teams build a strategy that improves their chances of reaching the market

The Know Hub Chile corporation selected the ten science- and technology-based ventures (EBCTs) in the fields of cybersecurity, food biotechnology based on the circular economy, manufacturing and materials, and medical devices that will take part in the third edition of the innovation program Know Hub Ignition.

This initiative, as reported by Infodefensa.com, is run by Know Hub Chile in collaboration with the University of California, Riverside and has the support of Chile’s National Research and Development Agency (Anid), the sponsorship of the Production Development Corporation (Corfo) and the backing of Lockheed Martin in the category of Cybersecurity.

According to Know Hub Chile, the call for this program, which focuses on the value proposition and customer segment of EBCTs to accelerate their early and global growth, was well received by the national and international innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, with more than 100 teams from Chile and the region taking part.

Of all the teams that applied, 28 were first selected for the pitch presentation phase, and ten were then chosen to be part of the current edition, all with extensive specializations.

Cybersecurity

Óscar Astudillo, Innovation coordinator at Know Hub Chile, highlights that most of the teams “are formally established ventures in the process of technical and commercial validation, seeking acceleration and maturation, which they will undoubtedly be able to achieve through the program.”
“There are teams in food biotechnology based on the circular economy, as well as cybersecurity, manufacturing and materials, and medical devices.
We believe this edition will be very competitive given the very high level the teams have today,” Astudillo emphasizes.

Gazuone was the company selected by Know Hub Chile to take part in the cybersecurity category of the Know Hub Ignition 2023 program. In this area, the program is looking for strategic technological solutions or preventive operational work models that make it possible to cover vulnerabilities and carry out mitigations to address them.

Gazuone member Karina Quiroga said they hope to improve their commercial proposal and cybersecurity product, “allowing us to access external funding to strengthen the current prototype and turn it into a consolidated product ready for commercialization.”
