Horizon Lab is a program that provides researchers, doctoral students and early-stage science- and technology-based startups (EBCTs) with maturation and acceleration capabilities, methodologies and standards.
Through tools such as Customer Discovery, we build capabilities so that teams themselves reduce technological and commercial uncertainty, independently validating their value propositions, protecting their inventions and connecting scientific research with real market and societal opportunities. Horizon Lab is a program that supports applied research and technology development teams to improve the odds of successfully transferring their technology. To that end, Horizon Lab provides core capabilities for understanding the needs of society and industry, through training and support from specialized mentors. During the program, teams build a business model, which is reviewed using the Customer Discovery methodology to improve the fit between their proposal and market demand.
