Know Hub Bridge

A program designed to provide early-stage research teams from Know Hub's partner institutions with capabilities and tools.

What it involves

It seeks to close scientific and technological gaps through proofs of concept (PoC), enabling teams to validate critical hypotheses and move independently from basic to applied research, leaving projects well positioned to access technology scale-up funds (such as Fondef, Startup Ciencia and others) and increase the impact of science on society.

Research teams validating the scientific sufficiency of their solutions with a proof of concept.
What it offers

Early-stage gap closing, validating critical hypotheses.
Goal

Accelerate the transition to applied research and strengthen projects to apply for Fondef VIU, Startup Ciencia or other funds.

2020: OpenBridge Covid-19

An edition of Know Hub Bridge aimed at meeting the needs of healthcare centers during the pandemic. The call sought to accelerate solutions developed by researchers, entrepreneurs and graduate students from partner institutions, in collaboration with the National Institute of Geriatrics (INGER) and Hospital Padre Hurtado.

The initiative allocated up to CLP 60 million for a maximum of three projects and addressed challenges related to personal protective equipment, cleaning, asepsis and disinfection technologies, and information and communication technologies. OpenBeauchef and Santander X also collaborated.
